Mimram Gender Based Abuse Support Service

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, sexual abuse, stalking and harassment, harmful practices, ‘so called honour’ based abuse or modern slavery, and live in Hertfordshire, then the Mimram service is here to support you. Mimram is a partnership between local specialist services. Refuge provides the lead support, but we work with Safer Places, St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge (SAHWR) and Asian Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) to deliver local support.

What is Gender Based Abuse?

Gender Based Abuse is a term that describes types of abuse which are overwhelmingly, but not exclusively, carried about by men against women. This may include domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, forced marriage or female genital mutilation. We recognise that men can also experience these forms of abuse, and support them too.
